MY HISTORY ON THE SCHOOL BOARD

I was appointed to the UCFSD board of directors in 2014, then elected in 2015 with 96% of the vote. I completed my four year term and left the school board in December 2019, right before the pandemic. In June 2022 I was appointed to fill a vacant Region B board seat and am running for election in 2023.

MY FAMILY

I have four children, ages three to twenty and all have or will attend our public schools. We moved here 14 years ago when my oldest son started first grade. He graduated from UHS in 2021. My younger sons will graduate in 2024 and 2026. My three-year old daughter, will attend Pocopson elementary starting in fall 2024. When my youngest graduates from UHS, I will have had children in our schools for 28 consecutive years! As your school board director, I make decisions that impact all of our kids, including my own. And that's the way it should be.

WHERE I COME FROM

I was born and raised in Concord, Massachusetts and attended public schools K-12. At Concord-Carlisle High School I was captain of the Wrestling team and participated in Soccer, Math Team, Band and the exchange program to Vincennes, France. I also worked part-time delivering newspapers and washing dishes in a cafeteria. After graduating in the top 10% of my high school class, I attended the University of Michigan and earned a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature, graduating Summa Cum Laude. I later completed an M.A. in Chinese Studies from the University of Toronto and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

WHAT I BRING

During my 25-year professional career, I have held executive roles in technology and operations at Fortune 500 companies. At work, I specialize in delivering transformational programs that improve efficiency and fuel revenue growth. Prior to moving to Pocopson Township, my career took me and my family to the Philippines and Hong Kong. You can find me on Linked In here.

As a school board member, I bring expertise in Finance, Technology, Facilities, Security, Talent Development, and Process Improvement. From this real world experience, I help UCFSD make better decisions, operate efficiently, and deliver a world-class education to our students.
